It is with sadness, that we announce the passing of Roberta Sayers. She was a long-time resident of Lake Underwood with deep family roots in our club. Her kin have been notified.

Our friend, May Slocum, passed away Sunday, June 6th. May celebrated her 100th birthday with family last month. Sydney said she was in good spirits at that time and enjoyed seeing everyone.

What can you do?
Preventing the spread of nuisance species doesn’t start and end at the boat launch, it first happens with education and awareness. It happens on land and in water. Nuisance species include those invisible to the naked eye and those that are very large in size. Nuisance species are those that are capable of fundamentally changing an ecosystem indefinitely with irreversible negative consequences. With that in mind, it’s helpful to know what to look for. Click on the attachment below to find information for recent observations and point maps of specific nuisance species in locations within a 50 mile radius of Lake Underwood.

Customary Workday Projects

               – common grounds raking/cleanup

               – clean/clear ditches and sluice pipes along club road…

Note: There is one ditch that leads away from Nimrod Road that is impeded by a fallen tree…will need chain saw to clear

               – dock/floating dock … annual install

               – clubhouse interior general spruce up

Additional Projects

               – shooting range general cleanup, remove debris  as needed

– continued Paint/stain  picnic tables weather permitting…stain is available in club shed

If there are additional ideas for work to be done in the scope of time available, please let me know and we can add it to the morning work.  Any work details left undone will be posted on the website and in the bulletin board outside the clubhouse for anyone interested in putting in their workday hours at another time..

Dear Members,

It is with great sadness that we share our friend and fellow Lake Underwood Nimrod Club member, Fred Schultz, passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, January 10th. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Schultz family.

Just a quick note to let you know that the AED Defibrillator in the clubhouse has been relocated for the winter months. It cannot withstand freezing temperatures and cannot be kept outdoors.  Once the spring arrives, the AED Defibrillator will be returned to the clubhouse.
